What the verified mark on a clinic or surgeon profile means, the checks behind it, how often they are repeated and what it does not tell you.

A verified mark on a clinic profile means that, on the date shown, we confirmed the checks below from primary sources. On a surgeon profile it means we confirmed the surgeon's registration and the credentials listed. It is a factual statement about paperwork and registers. It is not a rating, an endorsement or a guarantee of outcome.
For every clinic we list we confirm:
For every surgeon we list we confirm:
We do not inspect premises in person, observe surgery, audit complication rates or verify patient outcomes. No comparison site can, and any that claims to should be asked how. The mark tells you a provider is what it says it is and is authorised to do what it does; it cannot tell you how good they are. That judgement is yours to make, in consultation, with the questions our guides suggest.
Prices on a clinic profile are supplied by the clinic and confirmed with it. Each price shows when it was last verified. Prices older than twelve months are excluded from averages and comparison ranges, and a clinic whose prices are stale is asked to confirm them before they are shown again.
Checks are repeated at least annually and whenever we learn of a change: a lapsed registration, a change of ownership, a regulatory action or a credible complaint. A clinic that fails a check loses the mark until it passes again, and a clinic that cannot be verified is removed.
Verification is not for sale and is not affected by whether a clinic is a paying partner. The staff who run these checks are not involved in commercial relationships with clinics.
If you have information suggesting a listed clinic or surgeon does not meet these standards, contact us using the details on the Legal Notice page. We take such reports seriously and treat them in confidence.
