Cost guide
A face lift in Turkey is usually quoted as one package covering surgery, anaesthesia, hospital nights, hotel and airport transfers. The same operation in the UK is typically quoted at eight to fourteen thousand pounds, and higher again in the United States. The gap comes from staff costs, hospital overheads and the exchange rate rather than from the operation itself. What a quote leaves out matters more than its headline figure, because two quotes only become comparable once both lists are known.

A typical package covers 1 hospital night and 10 hotel nights.
A face lift is priced as an operation, not as a treatment, which is why quotes vary so widely. The surgeon works for several hours under general anaesthetic, you occupy a theatre and usually a bed overnight, and someone has to look after you afterwards. Those four things account for most of the bill wherever you have it done, and the reason the total differs between countries is that each of them costs a different amount to provide.
That is also why comparing a headline price is close to meaningless on its own. A quote that covers the anaesthetist, one hospital night, a week of hotel, transfers and a follow-up appointment is a different product from a quote that covers the surgeon only. The figures on this page are built from what clinics actually charge, and the sections below explain what moves them.
Prices are indicative ranges collected from clinics and verified periodically. Your final price follows a personal consultation.

Savings compare the middle of each range, so a wide quote cannot flatter either side. They exclude flights, hotel nights beyond the package and time off work.
No country publishes a national fee schedule for cosmetic surgery. Figures marked as estimates are scaled from published UK prices using Eurostat price levels, and are a guide rather than a quote.
What moves a price up or down, before anyone talks about a discount.
The reference operation and the one most quotes describe. Tightening the SMAS layer beneath the skin is what makes the result last, and it is the technique most surgeons perform most often.
Costs more in every market. The dissection goes deeper and releases the ligaments that hold the midface, which takes longer in theatre and is technically less forgiving, so fewer surgeons offer it and those who do charge accordingly.
A smaller operation with shorter scars and less dissection, sometimes under sedation rather than general anaesthesia. It costs less because it is less surgery, and it does correspondingly less, particularly to the neck.
Adds operating time and therefore cost, whether quoted as part of the package or separately. What matters when comparing is not whether it costs more but whether it was in the price you were given.
Adds a harvest, processing and injection to the same session, so it raises the price modestly. It restores volume that lifting alone cannot, which is why it is so often combined.
Substantially cheaper because it is not a face lift: threads are placed under the skin without removing any, under local anaesthetic. It is a different result with a different duration, and comparing the two on price alone is misleading.
The same face lift costs different amounts in different countries for reasons that have little to do with the surgery. Theatre time is staff time, and what a nurse, an anaesthetist and a surgeon are paid varies enormously across Europe. Hospital overheads follow local property and energy costs. Medical indemnity insurance is a large fixed cost in some countries and a small one in others. On top of that, a price quoted in lira and paid in euro moves with the exchange rate.
None of that is a statement about quality. A lower price in one country does not indicate a worse surgeon, and a higher price in another does not buy a better one. What it does mean is that the sensible comparison is not between countries but between what two specific quotes contain, and between the surgeons who would perform them.
Counted across all 3 clinics quoting this procedure. The count is the useful part: it tells you whether to expect something, or to ask for it in writing.
Costs the surgery quote does not cover.

These figures are ours, not a clinic quote, and each carries the source and the date we checked it.
A price is a one-off figure and a face is not. These are the costs that arrive after the surgery is paid for.
What to check before you compare two totals, and what a suspiciously low one usually means.
Paying more buys something real in three places: a surgeon who does this operation often rather than occasionally, a consultant anaesthetist present throughout, and a hospital that can manage a complication overnight. Those are worth the difference and they are worth asking about directly, because they are not visible in a headline price.
Paying more buys very little in three other places: a more comfortable hotel, a more attentive coordinator, and a smarter clinic reception. Those improve the trip and change nothing about the result. The useful question is not whether a quote is high or low but which of these two lists the extra money is buying.
The part most quotes leave out. Complications are uncommon, and the financial position when one happens is worth knowing before you travel, not after.

Deposits, the balance, and what happens if plans change.
Most people pay for a face lift from savings, because it is elective and no health system funds it. Where a clinic offers finance it is normally through a third-party lender rather than the clinic itself, and the interest is the lender’s, not a discount on the surgery. Read the total repayable rather than the monthly figure, and check what happens to the agreement if the operation is postponed.
This site does not recommend a lender and does not earn anything from one. The only point worth making is a practical one: borrowing to pay a deposit before a surgeon has assessed you commits you to a decision that has not been made yet.
A face lift performed to change appearance is cosmetic surgery, and no insurer covers it. The distinction that decides cover is purpose rather than technique: the same operation is funded where it corrects a functional problem or the consequences of disease or injury, and is not where it addresses ageing.
Ordinary travel insurance is a separate question and an important one. Most policies exclude anything arising from planned surgery abroad, which means a complication on the trip is not covered by default. Policies written for medical travel exist and are worth the cost of a phone call to arrange.
Because the things that make up the bill cost less to provide. Surgical and nursing salaries, hospital overheads and indemnity insurance are all lower than in the UK or the United States, and the exchange rate moves the rest.
It is not because the operation is smaller or the materials are different. It is worth knowing what a low quote is buying, but a lower price in Turkey is mostly an economic fact rather than a clinical one.
It should be, and in a good package it is. The two things that change it are procedures added after assessment, such as eyelid surgery or a neck lift, and a longer stay than planned.
Ask for the exclusions list in writing. A quote without one is not a total, and everything not named on it is billable.
Meaningfully more, everywhere. It takes longer in theatre, the dissection is deeper and less forgiving, and fewer surgeons perform it regularly.
Whether it is worth the difference depends on your face rather than on the technique being newer. A surgeon who offers both and explains why one suits you is more useful than one who offers only the more expensive.
It depends entirely on what was agreed in writing before surgery. Some clinics cover a revision within a stated period at no surgical cost; almost none cover the flights and hotel for a second trip.
Treat this as part of the price. A quote that is slightly higher with a clear revision policy can be the cheaper of two.
No. A quote given before a surgeon has seen photographs or examined you is an estimate for an operation nobody has yet decided on.
A deposit to hold a date after a proper assessment is ordinary. A deposit to obtain a price is not.
Usually not. Most standard policies exclude anything arising from planned surgery abroad, so a complication during the trip falls outside cover by default.
Specific medical travel policies exist. Ask the insurer the question in those words, and get the answer in writing.
Flights for you and anyone travelling with you, any hotel nights outside the package, insurance, and a contingency for staying longer than planned.
The budget lines on this page carry a source and a date. The largest cost most people underestimate is not money at all: two to three weeks before looking presentable.
Figures come from written quotes held on file, not from advertised headline prices. This page draws on 3 quotes from 3 clinics. A quote older than 12 months is dropped from every average rather than carried forward.
The most recent quote behind these figures was checked in October 2026.
Prices are indicative ranges collected from clinics and verified periodically. Your final price follows a personal consultation and depends on your anatomy, the technique chosen and what the package includes.
