What drives the price of facial implants?
A quote for facial implants is not a flat fee for "facial surgery". It is assembled from a handful of separate decisions, and understanding each one makes two quotes comparable.
The area or areas treated come first. A single chin implant is a shorter, simpler operation than cheek, chin and jaw angle implants placed together, and theatre time ranges from under an hour to around three hours accordingly. The material and design come next: solid silicone, porous polyethylene or a custom implant manufactured from a three-dimensional scan of your own bone. The setting and anaesthesia matter too, since local sedation in a day-case theatre costs less than general anaesthesia in a hospital with a period of observation.
Then there is who operates. Bone work is a different skill from soft tissue work, and a maxillofacial or facial plastic surgeon who places implants routinely brings sizing judgement and fixation technique that directly affect whether you need revision later. Finally, the package around the operation, meaning hotel nights, transfers, a coordinator and follow-up, can be bundled or charged separately, so two quotes are not comparable until both are itemised.
