What scar revision can and cannot do
The most useful thing to understand about scar revision is what it can and cannot do. It cannot remove a scar. Skin that has been cut through its full thickness always heals with a scar, and surgery replaces the existing one with a new one that is narrower, better positioned, better oriented, or less tethered than the original. Patients who understood this beforehand are consistently satisfied; patients who expected the scar to disappear entirely are not, however well the operation itself actually went.
This distinction is worth internalising before you look at a single price, since it reframes the whole decision: you are choosing between the scar you currently have and a different, hopefully better, scar, not between a scar and no scar at all.
